> FIG Soup and Chili Supper
>
> The Food Initiatives Group will be holding their first soup/
> chili supper on January 23rd from 4-6:30 PM at the Presbyterian
> Church at 400 E. Carroll St ( the entrance is on Dudley). Everyone
> is invited, and we have made a special effort to invite folks from
> Loaves and Fishes and WIRC . There will be no charge for the
> dinner, but we hope to receive donations to help cover our costs
> from some of those attending or wanting to sponsor the event. If
> you attend the supper and want to contribute, we suggest a $5.00
> donation per meal which you can give to Holly Stovall, Janice
> Welsch or Jamie Lane after you have eaten.
> The menu is set. We will be serving chili, chicken/noodle soup,
> squash soup and vegetable soup with 200 guests as a target number.
> We will also serve rolls, corn bread, and apple crisp. Drinks will
> be coffee, tea or water. Copies of the soup recipes will be available.
> Holly Stovall is in charge of organizing workers...you probably
> received her recent email. We are looking for numerous hands for
> food preparation to help chop and stir where needed. E-mail Holly
> (ha-stovall @wiu.edu) if you are interested in helping. She can
> tell you if and when we still need more help. The kitchen is large
> and beautiful...a joy to work in.
> We are also hoping to have several educational tables...such as
> pictures of Joel's pool garden, maybe a demo of growing sprouts,
> info about the future community gardens, and maybe handing out an
> herb plant (possibly Basil?),. All of this is in the planning stage
> and we're open to ideas and volunteers.
> We hope to see you on the 23rd as a helper if possible, or at
> least as a diner.

> Thanks,
