Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone had a restful, happy Christmas and New Year with those you love and are refreshed and ready to endure this cold and snowy winter. Before we know it, though, it will be time to plant gardens and on my part, order chicks for spring delivery.
I am planning to raise 500 broilers on grass this year as the 250 I raised last year are nearly sold out. Closer to summer I will be sending out ordering and pricing information.
I'm also planning to raise 50 turkeys or more if demand warrants it. Again, more information will be forthcoming when warmer weather greets us.
The hens are warm in their hen houses and happy to have alfalfa hay to eat in lieu of real grass. Their production has slowed somewhat in the cold but I still have an adequate supply of eggs.
For now, I will be delivering eggs to Macomb tomorrow (Saturday). If you aren't a "regular" and would like some, please reply to this email or call me at 333-4880 by 9:30 a.m.
Thanks and I look forward to providing you with high quality, responsibly raised poultry and eggs again in 2010.
Cheers!
Ann and Kendall @ Hickory Ridge Farm
