Peter Cole would like you to know about a movie called No Impact Man. 

 

When: February 4, 2010

Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM 

Location: Morgan Hall 109 

Description: WIU’s Campus Greens will be showing the film “No Impact Man” on Thursday February 4 at 7:00 pm in Morgan Hall Room 109. The 90-minute film will be followed by a panel discussion. 

No Impact Man is an award-winning documentary about Colin Beavan, who decides to completely eliminate his personal impact on the environment for one year. 

Eating vegetarian, buying only local food, turning off the refrigerator, no elevators, no television, no cars, busses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage. - No problem - except that he and his family live in Manhattan. 

When his wife Michelle and their two-year-old daughter are dragged into the fray, the No Impact Project has an unforeseen impact of its own. 

This is a warm and humorous film that provides an intriguing inside look into the experiment that became a national fascination and media sensation, while examining the familial strains and strengthened bonds that result from Colin and Michelle’s struggle with their radical lifestyle change.
