Hi, Figs!
I have an overabundance of eggs so please let me know if you need some. To get rid of them, I'll offer them for $2.00 a dozen.
Please reply to this email or call me at 333-4880 to place your order. I'll be in Macomb tomorrow and at the FIG meeting Monday night.
Thanks,
Ann Runner

Subject: [FIG-ALL] FIG's mission: focus in 2009
Hi all,
As the board is preparing for a great meeting on Monday, January 12, at 7 pm at New Copperfield's Book Service....
and as we have been looking back at a fantastic first year as FIG seedlings....
we thought that FOCUS would be a good idea.....
and in light of that....
please comment....
on a proposed revision of our mission statement and goals! Please comment!
The mission of Food Initiatives Group is to inspire community members to grow a just, sustainable, and local food system.
We inspire by:
-educating consumers about food choices
-engaging consumers in growing, eating, and preparing food
-fostering food-related networks
-pursuing favorable policy changes in agriculture

(do you like equitable or fair more than just?)

Macomb's Food Initiatives Group (FIG) advocates for a revolution of food and agriculture – the resurgence of a local food culture that provides every person access to sustainably produced, nutritious food.
Our goals are to promote the participation of community members in:
• understanding, fostering, and celebrating the ecological, economic, ethical, social, and historical components of sustainable food networks.
• developing appreciation for the growing, preparing, and eating of food.
• supporting policies that facilitate expansion of the local foods market and education of new farmers.
